  • 10:30 am – 11:00 am. More Gain, Less Pain. Proofing Assessment to Protect Academic Integrity. This presentation provides an overview of the approach being adopted at the University of Portsmouth to help staff review their current assessment methods across different modules to assess the potential impact of ChatGPT on academic integrity. With reference to an emergent AI proofing tool, attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on the elements of assessment that can be potentially compromised by AI, and be encouraged to consider alternative forms of assessment that can reduce the risk of academic misconduct. Reference to the proofing tool will also encourage staff to creatively think about how ChatGPT can be used to enhance student engagement with assessment. By the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to think critically about the skills and knowledge necessary to create robust and secure assessments that ensure academic integrity in the age of AI.
